Research Interests

As a staff researcher in Professor Robert H. Grubbs' Lab at the California Institute of Technology, I have been involved in the development of a new general protocol for the integration of silicon into organic molecules. Since January 2013, I have helped develop several methods for forming Carbon-Silicon bonds using Earth-Abundant-Metal Catalysis.

In a broader sense, I am interested in developing new, efficient methods for forming high-value chemical targets. I am particularly passionate about creating sustainable chemical methods using inexpensive, mild, and non-toxic conditions employing Earth-abundant elements over precious metals.
